The Doodle Whistler

The simple uplifting colours of this piece remind me of one of my old favourites Walking Down to Happiness, who’s got that one I wonder? And I do love a Doodle! I guess I have one myself now with Birdy puppy. She is a mixture of Standard poodle, Newfoundland, Bernese Mountain Dog and German Shepherd. In fact a mix of all 3 of the dogs I’ve owned, wrapped up in a brown fluffy package.

• Mixed media original using oil pastel, ink and sgraffito on board
• Beautifully presented in a bespoke solid wood frame. Carefully chosen by Sam and Frame Factory Brighton, with a substantial profile for a ‘vintage modern’ feel. Stained in subtle shades of dark brown, lightly distressed, waxed and buffed to a soft sheen with antique gold fillet. Glazed using UltraVue which is a crystal clear, virtually invisible glass offering 70% UV protection
• Photographed without signatures but all pieces are signed on the front (and dated on the back of the picture before framing for posterity!)
