Waiting by the Dog and Bone
Did you know I actually own TWO red phone boxes. I bought them from a nice fellow called Eddie who had snapped up hundreds of phone boxes cheaply from BT when they were getting rid and he saw a business opportunity. I really admire that. His day job was selling sunglasses from a suitcase on Brighton’s seafront.
He bought them for a pound each and sold them for a fortune. Up and down the country, across London and everything. And about 20 in Brighton. And before you ask, yes, I do have the papers properly drawn up and a letter from Brighton council.
I restored them (oooo they were in a stinky mess, used as toilets as so many are) and now they are run by Amber (who also runs our Little Mustard Club) as a free community gallery. She curates some brilliant shows. And next Summer a project with local children. Powis Square Brighton. Check them out.
This piece will be ready to send or collect (by appointment) from 27th October.
